Simmons is a nationally and internationally recognized author, educator, and coach whose work focuses on helping girls and young women develop emotional intelligence, communication skills, healthy risk-taking ability, and confidence as leaders. She has since co-founded the national nonprofit Girls Leadership; written two books, The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence, and bestseller Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls.
